Can a faulty memory cause damage to the other components inside the computer?
I want to know if it’s possible for a faulty memory stick to cause damage to the other components inside the computer. I had my cousin come over to help repair my brother’s broken computer and to test the parts of his computer he used my computer for testing the parts and somehow I think it damaged the parts of my computer. I hear three long beeps from the motherboard whenever I try to turn on the computer. Now both my brother’s computer and my computer are not working.
What it sounds like it that either the ram is unseated properly or it has damaged the mother board or CPU….if you snap out the ram and try to reseat it and you still get the computer does the same thing it has fried you…tell him to open his wallet… Dam back yard Computer Tech’s
And yes if you frig with memory and dont have a Static Strap on ur arm ding dong the lights are out….from a Computer tech who has done it himself….
