You Can Have A Rewarding Career With Psychology

Freshmen who have decided to become psychology majors must take the course that is known as Intro to Psychology or Psychology 101.  This course introduces the ideas, theorists and disorders that will color a student’s perspective throughout the four years and beyond in which they are working in the field of psychology.  This course is essential because it provides the background knowledge that is necessary to continue study in the field so they can make use of their free online college.

For some students the Intro to Psychology (or Psych 101) course can be burdensome as their knowledge of this arena may have already advanced past what’s covered in the introductory course.  Some students may have come into the class having taken advanced placement courses this genre.  Students who pass the AP Psychology test (which is administered by the College Board) with a grade of 3 or higher can receive credit for the course instead of having to take the class.

There are many reasons to be a psychology major.  Most students are interested in how the mind works and why people make the decisions that they make.  Students will get exposed to the many theories, personalities and disorders that color the psychological palette, however their exposure will be limited to a superficial one as the time constraints in the class do not allow for extended study of a singular subject.

Many students have great interest in the myriad of psychological disorders that can cripple people’s lives.  Schizophrenia is the most prominent of these disorders.  Most students have some previous knowledge of this disorder thanks to movies and television.  This is the disorder where patients are hearing voices and often acting out violently due to the persistent nature of the disorder.  Intro to Psychology explains the basics of the disorder, but not much else in depth.

Those will carry through to a major in this area also have great interest in the many figures that have impacted the science throughout the years.  Some psychologists are more colorful in nature, while others are more staid.  There are many researchers who are covered throughout the semester and students must have background knowledge about all of them to pass the course and to advance their studies. Students will be standing on the shoulders of giants in psychology during their student scholarship so it’s important that they know where they stand.

Many students know of people such as Freud; however one of the first psychologists students will meet is Jean Piaget.  Piaget’s theory of cognitive development was the first of its kind to deal with how children learn how to act within a social context, as well as how children learn in a scholastic environment.

After learning how Piaget affected the perceptions of cognitive development, students are introduced to Erik Erikson.  Erikson was not concerned with how children learned, but was concerned with how identity conflicts affect development throughout a lifetime.  Students learn about the different identity conflicts and what the result of the winning trait is.  In an introductory course students are exposed to Erikson, and if they’re interested in cognitive development they’ll encounter Erikson in other courses.

Intro to Psychology is an excellent beginning to a course of study that will be enriching and exciting for the prospective psychology student.  Most students will be somewhat frustrated by the lack of depth of the course, but will understand when they enter the most specific and intensive courses that will fill out their major, letting them access the benefits of their psychology colleges online quicker.

Psychologists Wanted To Break New Grounds In Field

College students often find time to have one or two courses on their schedule that are not related to their major.  Sometimes they fill this schedule space with easy courses, but there are other times in which they decide to choose Intro to Psychology because they are curious about how the human mind functions.  Once they arrive at this introductory course, students are introduced to a wide variety of theories and researchers who have changed the way people think. The students will spend their time in their free online college studying these figures.

There are many different areas of psychology that are covered in an introductory class in psychology (also known as Psychology 101 at some schools).  These areas of study are differentiated based upon the methodology used and the innovator of the method.  Some areas of study are behaviorism and abnormal psychology.  These are two completely different areas of study, but many students who sign up for this class find themselves interested in these areas.

The personalities who populate the world of psychology are also of great interest to prospective students if for no other reason than they’re unique in that they are eccentrics who have great insight into the human mind.  Two of the most famous personalities are the well known Sigmund Freud and Philip Zimbardo.  These personalities have left their imprint on the study of psychology, as well as the students who study them.

Behaviorism is a school of psychology that deals with the mind’s response to a variety of stimuli.  The man considered to be the founder of this school is B.F. Skinner.  Intro to Psychology students will need to get to know about Skinner’s studies, as well as his famous experiment known as Skinner’s Box.  Students who are interested in education might benefit from learning about the Behaviorists.

Abnormal psychology is one of the more interesting areas in the class due to the diverse nature of psychological problems and diseases that are not diagnosed, diagnosed, or misdiagnosed.  College students are usually interested in learning about this area due to the strange behaviors associated with disorders such as schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder or even autism.

Sigmund Freud is the most famous, or infamous, personality students will discover in the Intro to Psychology course.  His theories on the Id, Ego and Superego, as well as the role of the Oedipal Complex, are his most famous, but there is so much to learn about Freud that many professors state they could do a course on Freud alone.  Most students will find him to be a polarizing figure, yet nonetheless Freud’s work will set the stage for students’ studies in their free college degree.

The Stanford Prison Experiment was the brainchild of one of the most famous contemporary psychologists, Philip Zimbardo.  Zimbardo’s prison study is still one of the most controversial experiments done in the history of psychology.  Most students in Intro to Psychology will learn the basics of the Zimbardo study as it relates to the positions of authority and how those in situations of power wield that authority.

Intro to Psychology is an excellent course to add onto one’s schedule and it will help lead to diversity in thought and action.  Most students who decide to take this class come out learning more than they ever could have imagined from their psychology colleges online.

Nine activities to help improve their working memory and concentration

10 Activities To help improve your working memory and concentration
———-
You are able to recall an extreme amount of facts. But his short-term memory can always contain only a limited number of things. But memory work may actually be the very essence of our intelligence. And no matter what kind of education you've had, everyone can improve their mental abilities. This article contains ten activities to help improve their working memory.

Activity 1: Eat
Imagine that you bought that new car you've dreamed. But instead to put some petrol in the tank, fill it with diesel and casually throw in a handful of sand. You may not be surprised when the car really not far away. The brain also needs the right fuel to work at its best. Try to eat a balanced diet rich in omega-3 fats, antioxidants, (broccoli, spinach and berries blackberries for example). I also recommend eating more frequently, avoid large drops in blood sugar, the main source of energy for your brain.

Activity 2: Turn on the music
Psychologists and scientists have been studying the connection between music and working memory for many years and many studies have found that music, especially classical, improves the storage and retrieval of information in human memory.

Activity 3: Reduce stress.
Stress not physically damage the brain, but you can do to remember things more difficult. Even temporary stresses have a negative effect on their working memory.

Activity 4: Pay attention
Often we fail to remember things, not because our memory is not good, but only because they were not paying attention. Many people find that when people forget the names. If deliberatly trying to remember things, is more likely to succeed

Activity 5: Group stuff
It is difficult to maintain a random list of items in the head, not something you ever forget when grocery shopping? But you can make it easier for you. If you can remember that three things were needed vegetables, you might also remember what they were.

Activity 6: Think Back
Here another great mental exercise. First, relax comfortably in a chair or bed. When you are really relaxed, begin the exercise.
For starters, mentally attention to yourself. Then go back and think of himself into the room. Keep in the back through the memories of the day. Each Once you do this, it will be easier, and you can remember more and more data each time.

Activity 7: Strengthen your neural connections
This is a Exercise can even create new neural connactions.
Grab the mouse with the hand that normally do not use it with. It is likely that more difficult to be accurate and precise with their movements. From here you can try some of these exercises every day. It is important to challenge your brain to learn new tasks, especially the processes that has never done before.
– Use your other hand to brush your teeth
– Dial the phone or operate the TV remote.
– Draw symtrically doing the same movements with both hands

Activity 8: Include more of your senses in an everyday task:
Get dressed with your eyes closed
Wash hair with eyes closed
Share a meal and use only visual cues to communicate. No talking.

Activity 9: Trek
Walking is especially good for your brain, because it increases blood flow, resulting in oxygen and energy that reaches the brain more efficiently. Since walking is not intensive, the legs also will not use oxygen extra blood sugar. Walking can create a clear head and improve their working memory.

Mind Movies Scam Or Truth?

So you’ve heard something about a thing called Mind Movies and you are wondering is this just another Internet scam that is going to take your money and leave you with precious little for your time and effort.

Fair question and in this article I will show you how to prove one way or the other whether or not the Mind Movies creation kit is a scam or truth.

The fist thing we need to do is find a useful definition of what a mind movie is. According to Ryan Higgins the creator of “Mind Movies”, a mind movie is a set of visual images that flash before the minds eye in a sequential fashion to produce an internal movie. It is an alternative picture of reality whether imagined, real or fantasy. A mind movie is another way of describing what our brains do when we visualize an outcome.

If we visualize a failure, then we are drawn to proving that to ourselves, likewise if we visualize success then we are going to draw that outcome to ourselves by the behaviour that follows the thought patterns.

But before we continue, let us ask that question again, could mind movies be a scam or is there some truth in how they work and what they can do for making our lives better.

Definition of a Scam.

A confidence trick or confidence game (also known as a bunko, con, flim flam, gaffle, grift, hustle, scam, scheme, or swindle) is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. Ref: Wikipedia.

So is the Mind Movies creation Kit a scam or does in deliver what is promised? The best way to find this out is by visiting several online forums to see what other users have to say about the programme.

After visiting several forums myself, I have found an overwhelming collection of positive reviews and feedback from thousands of satisfied customers.

It seems that the product, Mind Movies Creation Kit is a decent product that is easy to use, that has few problems.

Mind Movies Do They Work?

In deciding on whether or not Mind Movies is a scam or not is to take the question a little beyond whether on not it is a real product but whether Mind Movies really hold the power to change your life and help you achieve the things that you want most in your life.

Whilst reading the forum posts I did notice that the predominant feedback was that people’s experiences were that they did achieve more of their life’s goals by using their mind moves.

When you consider that there is nothing that we as human beings can do without first visualizing ourselves successfully completing the task first. For example if we think we are gong to clean our teeth before we leave for work, then the first thing we need to do is imagine that in our minds before it can happen. If on the other hand you expected that it was something that you could not do, for whatever reason, then it is highly unlikely that you would attempt to brush your teeth.

Each day we use our mind’s movies to help us achieve the things we do. Not just the things we want to do but the things we actually end up doing. This is an important thing to remember when considering if mind movies are a scam or a useful thing to bring into your life to help you achieve your goals.

“As a man thinks so he is” – quote from the Bible.

Now are they going to produce such powerful outcomes as some of it’s proponents claim, “I got my son a new F150, in the color he wanted and he didn’t even know that I had put this in my mind movie” or is this just random luck?

Or the lady who “had a tax refund turn up in the mail that helped her pay off her mortgage on her house, with $50 to spare, when she was expecting a high tax bill not a refund”, another random bit of luck?

Well the answer to this is really only found in giving it a try. There is no doubt that there is power in having positive reinforcement in your day for building up your mind and helping you to overcome the massive flood of negative input that we constantly receive from the media in all it’s variations of sensationalist journalism.

Do You Really Need To Buy The Mind Movies Creation Kit?

No you don’t need to buy the mind movies creation kit to have a success producing mind movie working away in your subconscious with you as you go through your day, working towards your goals.

You can use a range of other software applications that come with most computers to produce the same thing. Some of the software and items that you need to create a good mind movie, may cost you some money though, so in the end perhaps the Mind Movies creation kit just might be good value when you consider the obvious advantages of having all the elements in one place, such as:

  • Sound tracks to add for that emotional boost
  • Easy editing that takes the geek requirements out of the equation
  • Simple uploading instructions to the Internet
  • Mind Movies are powerful and can help you achieve amazing results in your life but can they deliver you that new car? Give it a try and see what your imagination and the power of your mind can bring into your life.
