Mnemonic Acronym
Any good mnemonic memory devices?
I need to know some for piano key signatures. I can’t remember which signature has 3 flats, 4 sharps, etc. I know sharps are CGDAEBFC because I just looked it up, but I don’t know anything that will help me remember. Oh, and flats are CFBEADGC… Any acronym/mnemonic memory device will help…
try to think of them in sentences. you know, like the treble clef lines (from bottom to top) is e,g,b,d,f. i was taught to say to myself Every Good Boy Does Fine to remember these letters. The spaces are f,a,c,e so i just remembered FACE.
use the same thing for key signatures. for example, the key of G has to sharps, A and F. you could say to yourself Great Airplanes Fly (G has A# and F#) get it?
make up these dumb little sentences and you won’t forget them for the rest of your life. whether that’s a blessing or a curse, you decide. lol. good luck!
