“this Desert Called Earth”
We have about a good two-hundred (200) years before our planet; “Earth” becomes a waist land. One of the many deserts in the Universe. We have the means, but we lack the most important reason, the willpower on how to prevent it from happening. Wrapping ourselves with other unimportant issues is blinding us. Having so many issues afflicting us all at the same time, and not taking the time to put them in order will eventually cause us to become extinct, just like the Dinosaurs. What would it take to make the human race realize that time is short. Do we have the time to spend just thinking about it or talking about it? On the other hand, is it time to start doing something about it… By nature, humans are always procrastinating about everything. However, this problem needs action, not procrastination. Because it means the survival of our species as we know it.
The Planet Earth has being around for (4.5) four point five billion years. During that time it has been able to recycle itself many times preserving life on it, as we know it. It has a life of its Owen. In addition, in a short time the specie that has the intelligent of keeping it clean and insure continuing its cycle, is lacking the foresight of preventing it from destruction. What is it going to take, before we face the reality that we will not have a place in space that we can call home? Surely, it is a simple matter, we start to either do something about it now, or wait until it is too late. Deciding on the later will bring us to extinction. Everyone likes to sit around their kitchen table and propose all the possible answers and solutions they may predict. However until this happens, there will be no progress.
Some of our brightest minds in the World are now beginning to realize that we have a big problem facing us. Talking about it is not going to produce results we need action and we need it now… For the average person on the streets, his primary concern is his daily survival. How am I going to make it until tomorrow? That is what is in his and her mind. While others just do not care, simply because it should be handle by those that have the means. United in Surviving should the common goal for the human race. Every ethnic group has their own agenda, which they are concern with, and can care less for what happens to the other groups. This is why we are face with the problem we have today. People are no longer concern about his brother or neighbor. They can care less what happens to them. As a result, we live in everlasting fear of what our futures holds for us. As I see it, it is not too promising because no one is paying any attention to the sings given every day by our Planet.
Take a good look and see what is happening, the Planet is getting warmer and warmer, the Sea level is raising and the weather patterns are getting more unstable. Causing unpredictable storms all over the World:
My theory is as followed; the deserts that are now on our planet are eating away at our fertile land more and more as time moves on. At the rate of ten (10) feet every ten years at this rate, it will not be too long before we have any fertile land on this planet.
Rising oceans will erode most of the coastal lines of all the continents and countries. Making some of them disappeared under water. For example, the coast of the United States , both east and west will see the ocean come in about a few miles inland. Any major city within those boundaries will surely disappeared under water. New York City , other cities along the eastern coastline down to the state of Florida , as well as the west coast will disappear under fifty to one hundred feet of seawater. Florida as we know it will no longer exist. It will disappear. With the entire coastline along the Gulf of Mexico, with the Gulf of Mexico pushing inward towards the upper middle parts of the United States by way of New Orleans and the Mississippi River cutting the US in half:
The Islands in the Caribbean ocean becoming smaller if not totally disappearing: The Island of Cuba will become much smaller. Only it highest peaks will show above the waters. Haiti and Santo Domingo as well as Puerto Rico will no longer exist they will be gone. Just the tip of some of their tallest peak may stick out from the ocean becoming uninhabitable and void of life. Yet, the only concern people have today, is how much money they are going to have in their bank account. How much they may owe the IRS. Whether they are going to hold on to their small fortune. That which is happening today in some counties, Africa , and other parts of the World where food shortages and the food they do receive from other countries not properly divided. Causing great numbers of people to continue to go hungry, in addition, causing humans in the thousand to starve to death. These countries have exhausted their fertile land in which they planted their crops, which can no longer bare fruits. They get little if any rain, which is also a contributing cause adding to their problem. Having all this causes happening all at once, can be devastating to any country…
The energy crisis is another problem afflicting humanity. In addition, it will be around until another crisis pups up, and another, and another. Something we should be paying attention to right about now.
The most important issue, which concerns me, is the lack of pure drinking water (H2O) how long before we run out of it. Regardless how much of the Arctic or Antarctic ice melts, it will not solve the water shortage, this is another problem we are facing today. There will be a time when man will give up his entire fortune just for glass of pure clear clean glass of water. Countries will go to war to control the rights to it. Conservation of our most valuable, water being one of the most important should be our immediate concern.
At the rated in which the human-race is consuming our water today without any means to find a way to renew it, will have disastrous results in out future. Many countries are now feeling that their water supply is dwindling almost to none. Seeing this happening humankind continues his search to self-destruct. Knowing well that it will not be too long before there is no water to drink. When that happens, humankind will realize the Earth is turning in to a vast desert in space.
Global Warming is a fact, not a figments of someone imagination. Its realty and no one is paying attention. You hear about it every day people talking, the radio, you see it on television, even when people called one another on their phones, all you hear is the Earth is getting warmer. Soon there will not be any place to cool off. I would think that some smart person would come up with the idea of having cooling stations all over the country in our cities where people can pay a fee and have a way of cooling off. Used as pubic water fountains and public toilets found in many city parks. These stations must be under government control. The clock is ticking and time is running out.
The United States , being the Capitalistic country that it is, more than likely will inspire the private sector to introduce the idea.
