I like public transport and do not care where I go or land while I am in the approximate area of a reasonable distance to New Hampshire / Austria. * What are the places to visit in Austria? Edit; Notes: * desired time frame, give-or-take; 05/28/09 to 06/18/09.
On the Flight: I suggest that you consult with major European airline websites. They often have special offers. Flying from New York (JFK or Newark) could be cheaper that of Portsmouth. Lufthansa, Air France / KLM, Britsih Airways, Austrian Airlines or Delta would be good to go. There should be direct flights from New York or you have to change a time in a major European airports such as Heathrow, Paris or Frankfurt. Please keep in mind when choosing a connecting flight from there, one of a time may be short to change planes in one of the airports referred to as you have to go through passport control. There are a number of daily flights to Vienna from all these major European airports. Credit cards: accepted are Visa and MasterCard, American Express is accepted in few places, but there should be no problem with international hotels. What to see: Vienna and Salzburg are musts, the rest depends. The lake district of Upper Austria is very nice and close to Salzburg. Innsbruck and the mountains surrounding are also great. The southern Austria has a very good climate and landscape is really beautiful this time of year. Since Austria is really small, Will train 6-7 hours from east to west, you can really see much of him in his time frame. It depends on your interests if you want to spend more time in cities with hightlights cultural or if you prefer the countryside and landscapes. Austria is a country of tourism and it is fairly easy to find accommodation at all places of interest. In May and June the tourist season has begun, but it will peak in July and August only. I know it is rather short, but should give you an idea.
