Memory Loss Vitamin B12

What are the benefits of vitamin B12? What kind of foods contain the highest percentage of vitamin B12?

I saw an info-commercial B12 a night can make you feel better. It helps with memory loss, depression, lack of energy, and various other benefits. The doctor also said could not take too much of it. Is there any truth to this? So is the best way to get this vitamin in their system?

Technically, yes, are right. B-12 for energy assistance and therefore, can help your mood support. When taken with folic acid and B-6, which can help combat levels harmful effects of homocysteine which helps with cardiovascular health. I have not heard of it specifically to support memory, but I suppose because you can can help with energy throughout the body including the brain. As for "could not take too much of it", that's partially true. It is a water-soluble vitamin, so if your body can not use excrete it from your system … but you can take too much of anything at once (like blowing an entire bottle of B-12 pills, which can be harmful). As far as the best way to get into the system, taking a daily dose is best because your body does not save it. Some people prefer swallowing a capsule, some prefer candy … a lot of that depends on each person and if you can handle a sweet in the mouth for half an hour or so. In general, the pill will have the B-12 in your system faster, but either way it is taken every day will continue to receive on your system. Personally I stay away from the shots because you getting, literally, a super-dose once a week or less and your body tries to filter and process the B-12. Since it is soluble in water, this is usually processed out before the week is up. Be a good number of people who have become ill when they received an injection of vitamin because it was too much of your body to handle … so it would be sick for a day or two each time they received a dose. It depends on each person to decide how they would like, but it's normal 500 to 1.000 mcg dose.
