Memory Loss Definition
How do I remember the definition of certain words?
As an aspiring author, it is very important for me to know an array of words, and thereby have various methods of expreesing my thoughts and concepts. The problem though is that I often forget the definition of certain words I come across. This occurs despite the fact that I continually research the words in question.
I can think of a few possible reasons for this lapse in memory. One, I am a full time college student with a part time job, and so I’m frequently studying. It may be possible that in the midst of accumulating parcels of knowledge, I lose some gears in the process. The other possible cause of my memory loss could be that I am highly susceptble to stress, and said stress may cause my mind to overlook the words I try to learn.
I have no answers at this point, and only questions. What do you think? How can I stop forgetting the definition of words?
I think you will make a fine author. You used 3 paragraphs to ask just one question. You elicited your problem very thoroughly without actually saying too much. I suggest you make flash cards and study them as you would any other subject. Once you think you have the definitions mostly memorized try using them in common day conversations. Good Luck.
