Memory And Concentration Problems
Would an MRI brain scan show short term memory problems &?
Hi. If anyone medical know….will a brain MRI scan show any of the following – area for short term memory damage (whatever part of brain for that), if your brain stopped growing/developing properly during childhood, indicate possible ADD/ ADHD or the part for concentration not working. Finally, if your considered slow / stupid by a lot of people (and your not trying to be the clown at all), as in even very naeive or gullible, would any of this show in an MRI or any other brain scan, even if it was something wrong in the part for your personality- frontal lobe i think. Only serious answers please. Thank you.
Short-term memory is thought to be located in the hippocampus, and yes, damage may be seen with an MRI. The appropriate scan for the other things you mention would be a PET scan.
Gullibility and naivete can’t be seen on a scan, nor can IQ.
A psychologist can administer tests to address the personality and cognitive functions you mention.
