Lost Memory Disease
How do I host a fundraising event?
My mom died of kidney disease a few months ago and I’d love to raise money for the Kidney Trust on her behalf. Someone mentioned renting out a bowling alley or banquet hall and having a night in her memory and raise money.
How do I go about that? I’m a college student and my husband is in the Navy, so I don’t have alot of money.. Any pointers would be good.. like do i rent out the place? what do i have for them to do there? im so lost.
I am on the board of our local YMCA and on our fundraising committee, and although I’m not sure how much you’re looking to raise, I do think that this might be one possibility.
We found, what I think, is a very clever fundraising idea. Check out www.ArubaYFundraiser.com and download our digital shopping tool. It won’t cost you anything, and takes less than a minute…and when you’re done, we’ve just made a dollar.
The reason I’m sharing this, is to show you a shopping tool everyone can use now-a-days, it doesn’t cost them anything, and you won’t have to rent out a place, and spend hours and hours arranging and organizing one event.
What we’re doing takes some time up front, but could raise some nice funds over time and not be reliant on a single event that you’re not sure how many might show up, etc.
If you’re interested in learning how we’ve set this up to maximize the funds raised via sponsors, do send me a note to ross@stglimited.com and I’ll send you either the notes from our meetings, or at least pointers on how you might do the same!
Hope this helps! Success with any project you decide on!
