If so what are they and how much do they improve your memory by?

There are many puzzles as well as memory specific games on DS, but i don’t think you can quantify how much they actually improve your memory.
“Brain Boost – Gamma Wave” is a specific memory improvement game. and Brain Age is a more general “brain improvement” game.
