Brain Memory Recall

Are there mental excercises you can do which will improve your brainpower?

Like trivia, crosswords, etc.. Do they improve your recall, memory, and all around brain performance?

Other ways to do it? Other excercises?
I’ve heard chess crosswords etc

yes of course. I have read a book called ‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill. It explains the concept of emptying your mind, which involves relaxing your brain the way you would relax your muscles. When you are thinking hard, the brain is like a tight muscle and if this is constant, you can get fatigue, or what we call tiredness. When you relax the mind, as in the way you feel when you are watching the ocean, or when you are watching some peaceful stretch of horizon, you will actually feel the brain move like a muscle relaxing. This is emptying the mind, and when you engage the mind after that, you have more energy, both physically and mentally. Plus you are ready to think some more.
